The Right Choice for Kitchen Replacement and Wardrobe Doors If your doors are not maintained properly, chances are they will have to be replaced in the long run. If your door is made of solid wood which is a material that easily contracts or expands under extreme heat or pressure, then you should really watch out. If you find that there is a necessity for replacement kitchen door, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is what you need. Doors that are made of solid wood have to be maintained properly because the material is particularly weak against heat and pressure. Doors that are located in bathrooms are mostly the ones heavily affected as they might have cracks or fissure on them. MDF, on the other hand, is far better than solid wood in many ways. First, it does neither contract nor expand when subjected to heat and humidity, but even it does, the whole thing will move and there will be no cracks in the paint. Moreover, unlike solid wood, MDF does not have visible grain thus you will not see any traces of cracks or peeling off on the paint. These are only some of the advantages in using MDF instead of using solid wood especially when it has to be painted.
